Temp 102 , sore throat, aches, chills and fatigue. Started yesterday with sore throat and cough. I feel like it's the flu but test was neg. what is it?
A false neg test!: Sometimes, the test kit is inaccurate, despite a "duck looking, squawking and smelling like a duck". Testing for the flu using "rapid" methods, can be notoriously inaccurate- 40% or more samples from pts that actually have flu, can have "negative" test results. Symptoms...Chills, hot skin, fatigue, aching muscles, loss of appetite and headaches. I often wake up with a blocked nose. Please help?
See a doctor: These symptoms are generally a result of some ongoing infection, often viral, and suggest a mononucleosis-like syndrome which can be due to ebv or other pathogens. The only way to get this successfully diagnosed is to see a doctor face to face and be examined and managed professionally. Good luck. ...Read more
