More info needed: The lymphocyte count is normal or close to it (depending to some extent on what your total white blood cell count is). However, 42 is quite a high ESR. The causes you list are possible, but there probably are a hundred other health conditions that could do this. You haven't provided nearly enough information to even guess. Keep working with your doctor. Good luck! ...Read more
31/F..high WBC, with high neutrophils and decrrased lymphs. Symptoms of sinus infection and possible strep throat. Temp of 95.5?
Sinus infection: Strept can give you a high white count and the change or shift in the type of cells to predominantly neutrophils is to be expected. The low temp could be secondary to the thermometer not functioning or did you drink something cool prior to the reading? At any rate take the antibiotics prescribed, consider doing saline washes up to 5 times a day, and I find motrin works better than tylenol (acetaminophen) pain. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Headaches and night fever. Low white count and elevated liver enzymes.Negative for: hepatitis, dengue, malaria, typhoid fever, negative blood cultures?
Not likely: An elevated WBC usually just means that your body is under stress and is expected with a sinus infection. A rash can be from any number of things (including medicines, stress, and viruses) but is rarely a sign of any cancer. Sinus infections and rashes are both much more common than cancers. ...Read more
High white blood cell count green poop low grade fever and chills with headache flu negative strep negative listeria ??
If you have green: poop and fever, then look inside the belly for cause. You may need a CT, or stool culture, or GI workup. If you have headache with fever, perhaps you need to look for meningitis. In other words, have your doctor keep looking for a cause, those tests you listed are only the beginning. Focus on your symptoms and start there. Good luck. ...Read more

Swollen lymph nodes, night and day sweats, exhaustion. Lymphoma or leukemia??
Probably: Often it's semantic. If the lymphocytes are found first in the blood, it goes into the "leukemia" category; if in a lymph node, "lymphoma". Well differentiated lymphocytic lymphoma / chronic lymphocytic leukemia are two faces of the same creature, which is what I'm betting (though not certain) that this is. Your prognosis depends on the genes that drive the cells. Best wishes ...Read more

Platelet count normal. Lab range of values is a guide & outliers are not unusual. Consult your doctor for further guidance. ...Read more

My spine hurts to touch about 6" from my neck. I have daily fevers, low lymphocytes and WBC feels like someone is sitting on my head, crushing spine?
Need to be examined!: Neck symptoms and low WBC may not be related. Often times patients test results return with mildly low WBC or lymphocytes. It depends on how much lower than normal they are. Mildly low counts can be "normal" for some patients. If a patient has neck/spine pain and fever he or she needs to be examined by a physician. Don't try to self-diagnose these symptoms. See a primary care physician soon. ...Read more

My sister did blood work after fever & shivering. Neutrophils was 83, lymphocytes was 14, haemoglobin was 12.5. Is it serious? What needs to be done?
Infection/Flu?: The neutrophil count is percentage of white cells? 83% is high, if so. Sounds like she has an infection like influenza or bacterial or both. Did she have a flu shot this year? Urgent care or ER for throat swab diagnosis would be helpful. If she feels better, she could call her PCP's answering service for further advice and see the dr the next day. Tylenol/advil for comfort if not allergic. ...Read more
last 3 years i've had a high whiteblood cell count with fevers i had blood work done and my lymphocytes are high is this something to worry about?
Maybe...: Lymphocytes can be elevated in autoimmune conditions such as lupus or rheumatoid arthritis, viral infections, and lymphomas/lymphoproliferative disorders. Additional testing is needed to find out what is causing these symptoms and the high lymphocytes. See the doctor who ordered the test and discuss what the next step is for you. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

What does WBC count of 3.4, Neutrophilis of 75.6 , and Lymphocytes count of 12.9 with fever mean?
Nothing much: If there are no immature or angry-looking neutrophils, probably your fever is not due to life-threatening sepsis, but don't get over-confident. I trust you got a good physical exam with the bloodwork. If everything else looked good, get follow-up; it may be no treatment is the best treatment. ...Read more

My 8 months baby has 100F fever, his cbc shows 16.9% wbc, lymphocytes 76% and neutrophils 16%, are low neutrophils dangerous?
Could be viral: Fever in a 8 month old can be due to a number of causes. Complete blood count, chest xrays and urine analysis can be a part of the work up. If a cbc shows more lymphocytes than neutrophils, the child could have a viral infection. Low neutrophils or neutrophilia can be caused due to infections as well. It is usually advised to keep the child in a clean non infectious environment and repeat the cbc ...Read more
