If you are passing gas, and not having escalating abdominal pain, you are probably doing fine. Get a second opinion: Fever of unknown origin is often caused by infections, inflammatory conditions or advanced cancers. The tests that she has had all have some limitations in locating hidden infections or cancer. A pet scan may be the best test to use especially to find many of the hidden conditions that cause fever.
