Dehydrated, fever 100.2 lithium inc. to 1200mg 4 days ago. toxic before on this dose 1.4. RN Retrying therapy. Is fever concerning?
Yes: The problem that fever adds is fluid loss. You become more dehydrated with every breath. The body evaporates water through the lungs to help cool you and that concentrates the Lithium. Drinks losts of cool liquids. I like slussys, but replace the fluids you are losing. Your urine should be about the color of Wylers lemone aid (sorry Wyler) Watch your lithium level closely. ...Read more
Rest/fluids: Take care of yourself by drinking plenty of fluids and resting. You can take tylenol (acetaminophen) for fever and body aches. You can take robitussin for the cough. If you get a higher fever or new or worsening symptoms see a doctor. As long as it just appears to be a cold virus supportive and symptomatic care is all there is to do. ...Read more
My 2 year old niece had a low grade fever (100.2) along with vomiting 3 days ago. Now she has red raised bumps on the back of her hands.why?
Fever, vomiting, rash: This sounds like a viral infection. As far as the rash on her hands, that would require a visual exam to determine what virus, or if it is related to the other symptoms. If the fever is still there or the rash is getting worse rather than better, she needs to see her doctor. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Toddler has fever 100.2 congestion, headache lasted a few min and stomach pain last night. Was running around today but still has fever, take to ER?
Not today: If your child is running around today, perks up with a dose of ibuprofen, it doesn't sound like ER visit material. It's not the fever itself that we worry about in a child, rather how the child is acting and how their behavior responds to the fever medicine. Fever itself isn't damaging in and of itself. We just want to learn where the fever is "coming from" so to speak. Outpatient visit soon ...Read more

My husband has low grade fever 100.2 sore throat with some white spots on tonsils. I don't know if I should give antibiotics.
Are you a doctor?: The decision to give an antibiotic is based on a culture and sensitivity report of the tonsillar culture. If you are not a doctor, you should never make a medical decision. If your husband has a viral infection, antibiotic treatment may make him worse because you are destroying normal flora in the back of the throat. See and ENT doctor for proper diagnosis and treatment. ...Read more
I have a fever 100.2 , ear ache and sore throat . My chest hurts when I breath like a burning feeling or soreness . Is this a cold or something else?
Febrile illness: This sounds as if you should go to see a doctor ASAP, either in an ER or an Urgent Care facility. Although this may be a viral illness, the chest burning is concerning and it would be advisable to be examined and perhaps have a chest x-ray and perhaps some labs depending upon what the doctor examining you finds. Good luck and best wishes. ...Read more

Yesterday evening my throat became very sore . White spots near my tonsils and it hurts to swallow . Glands swollen , pressure in ears , fever 100.2 ?
Pharyngitis: Likely not strep, but won't know until seen, tested. "white spots" are generally overcalled by the public, and often are due to relatively benign things such as cryptic exudate or normal appearance. Bottom line: you should get looked at before any other treatment. In the meantime, tylenol (acetaminophen) and/or Ibuprofen for fever/pain, and chloraseptic as needed. Use only if nonallergic. ...Read more
