Isn't a 12 wk u/s accurate within 5-7 days? Don't the fetus measurements vary slightly and would show a difference of 11 days?

Fetus was measuring accurate at 5w3d and 8w4d u/s. But this time I should be 11w3d but u/s showed only 10w1d with a strong heartbeat. Why?

Maybe but not likely: You have to understand that the usual way to date is weeks from the menstrual period, which is presumed( but not always )2 weeks from conception. But, if a good ultrasound is done and the first third of pregnancy, it should be accurate to within 5 days, not 2 weeks off! if within 5 days, they way still go by the menstrual period or probable date of conception... You can also do an amniocentesis which is more invasive but more accurate and definitive to get a DNA test for sex determination.
