Problem with baby: Blood flow in the mca (middle cerebral artery) may be abnormal if a baby is not getting enough oxygen, either because it has anemia so that it's blood cannot carry enough oxygen, or because it is not getting enough oxygen from the placenta. If your baby is not growing well, or if you have an infection or problem that might be causing anemia, your doctor may look at the baby's mca with ultrasound. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Babyaa 7wks 4days visible gestational sac and fetal pole, no yolk sac heartbeat. Babybb 9wks 4days alive. Could ob/gyn and perinatal ob tested early?
Doubtful: Usually when twin pregnancies occur fertilization happens at approximately the same time. The growth should be very consistent with each other. It appears that baby a will not continue to grow. I'm sorry. ...Read more
Lmp aug 26. Consistently measuring 6days behind at u/s. 7w4d 8mm fetal pole. Hr 131 bpm. Is the hr consistent with fetal pole measurement? Healthy?
Ultrasound showed a gestational sac of 9 wks. Fetal pole not clearly visualized corresponding to 8wks 3 days, unable to detect fetal heart motion. ?
No that is WNL: At 11 weeks, any concerns should be addressed to your OB about this or anything else why you are pregnant. ...Read more
Is it possible to measure close to 3 weeks behind on transvaginal ultrasound? U/s showed fetal pole measuring 6 weeks w/ no heartbeat yet.
Transvaginal USG: Transvaginal ultrasound is most accurate duringvthe first trimester by 5-7 days. If >than 1 week off then your dating may be off because of ovulation etc. your period also plays a role in this. If your cycles are irregular then ultrasound dates may be off. Would considerva repest ultasound in a week to evaluate and see if pregnancy is progressing. Good luck. ...Read more
U/s at possibly 7w5d gestational sac and fetal pole measuring at 6w1d but no yolk sac or heartbeat. Miscarriage or miscalculation?
Dates could be off: I would not expect to see definite fetal heart activity at 6wk 1dy. A repeat ultrasound in one week will resolve the question. If the pregnancy is viable there should be appropriate interval growth and definite fetal heart activity. If not, then there had been an early fetal demise. In cases of blighted ovum a fetal pole does not develop. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
U/s:single intrauterine gestation sac & fetal pole crown2rump 0.53cm 6w3d + or - a wk no yolk sac/ hb. Nxt u/s i'll be 11wk.Should i worry?Dating off?
A little concerning: More information needed but if a fetal pole is present and can be measured, then a fetal heart beat should seen. If there is just a gestational sac with no fetal pole, then the size of the gestational sac matters. A gestational sac that measures 18mm should have fetus with a heartbeat and if not, then a miscarriage is most probable. Good luck. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Follow up visit: Based on this limited information your sonograms were 3 weeks apart and the fetal measurements shows 3-4 weeks of growth. This sounds appropriate but it would be prudent to schedule a follow up visit with your doctor to go through the details and specifics ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Screening vs confirm: Blood screening is a relatively non invasive way to get information on significant problems but by definition it is screening. Screening is an effort to narrow down the list of people that need a specific confirmatory test.By example, for every 1000 screened, 10 may be positive, and offered the amnio to find 1 true positive. An amnio is more invasive & risky but gives more definitive results. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
My ob asked for 5 ultrasounds
Anomaly scan level 2
Colour Doppler scan
Are they necessary can they be harmful?
No: There has been no convincing evidence that ultrasounds are harmful to a developing fetus. If your OB thinks they are necessary, it is a good idea to follow their advice. Hope this helps! ...Read more
