Ferrous sulfate: This is best absorbed from an acid stomach environment. Take ferrous sulfate on an empty stomach, at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after a meal. When the beta nerves are blocked by the propranol this can lead to worsening asthma/breathing problems. A better description would be three times a day while awake. If the directions said every 8 hours, then that is how you should take it.
