I have had an iron infusion of iron polymaltose as i had iron deficiency anemia with ferritin level 9. How long before my ferritin level will rise?

I have iron deficiency anemia, got infusions, raised ferritin levels, but it recently dropped from 140 to 36 again. I eat plenty of iron, celiac neg.
Menstrual flow: If you have prolonged or excessive menstrual flow, you may discuss with your OB re. BCP to reduce the frequency of your menses. Iron deficiency: Iron deficiency is common in menstruating women. Your lab result are consistent with iron deficiency anemia. Take oral iron supplement with multivitamins. Take iron pills with food. If constipation becomes an issue, use a fiber laxative like Metamucil. For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, low fat milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. Practice safe sex. Get HPV vaccine. ...Read more

Same cause for both: It is likely that the weight loss and anemia are being caused by the same entity/disorder. It may be poor nutrition, malabsorption, parasitic infestation or an undiagnosed illness. It would be prudent to see a doctor for an in-person evaluation.
