Hmmm...: One cannot think too much into pink rings around people's dried urine puddles. Just presume toilet areas are a mess, full of poop germs. That means, if it's your toilet, clean it; if it's not your toilet, get in and out as fast as you can. Not mildew: If this is a persistent problem, you may want to get it checked out especially for fat malabsorption (Celiac disease etc) when the stool floats. Nah: Significant blood loss (more than 3-4 ounces of blood), especially from upper sources, e.g. Stomach, duodenum , small bowel, less likely from right colon, can give black, tarry stol, with a typically characteristic odor, often loose (blood is a laxative):melena (black). Need GI Follow Up: Darker the stool higher up the GI tract. Now you mention red brown than more red.
