Is gluten free pasta ( maize starch, soy flour, potato starch and rice starch)with about 40 gm carbohydrates good for cholesterol ?

Is gluten free pasta ( maize starch, soy flour, potato starch and rice starch)with about 40 gm carbohydrates good for cholesterol ?

Does not matter: Since 90% of the cholesterol is produced by the body regardless of your diet, the above would not noticeably affect your cholesterol level. Do note that too much carb may not be good for your health. I don't believe extreme diet does anyone any good. Just eat anything in moderation and exercise at least 3 hrs a week will likely keep you in better shape. ...Read more

Which rice is better white rice(sonamasoori ) or white basmati rice for daily consumption?

Haven't heard of any: Haven't heard of any studies comparing different types of white rice. A study would have to have 2 groups of people eating the same foods and the same amounts of foods, except that one group would eat sona masuri and the other group would eat basmati. As one can imagine, such a research study would be pretty hard to do. In general, white rice is not as healthy as brown rice. ...Read more

Is it bad to eat raw glutinous rice flour?!

Is it bad to eat raw glutinous rice flour?!

Raw glutinous rice flour: No, is good!!This high raw rice salad is satisfying, delicious and oh so nutritious! High raw rice salad What on earth is a “high raw” salad anyway? Well, high raw basically means “mostly raw”. In other words, a high percentage of the ingredients are raw, so you know you’re eating as much raw food as possible. This particular high raw rice salad was created after I read “The Starch Solution” by Dr John McDougall. So when we’re looking for ways recently to increase our calories without adding more fat to our diet, this was one of the ideas we tried. ...Read more
