Quite a bit of time: the first thing is that fentanyl is a long acting drug mainly because of the time it takes to get out of the patch and into the person. Fentanyl: IS an opiate but does not show up on routine urine testing HOWEVER many Companies ask for COMPLETE drug screening which can include Fentanyl testing so don't "figure" you can use Fentanyl and pass your test!!!! More than likely: yes. All opioids have the potential to release histamine from mast cells, which is what causes hives. The ones that do it most are morphine, codeine and hydrocodone, and the ones that do it the least are oxycodone, heroin and fentanyl.
