Not unusual but...: Placquenil is a standard treatment ; vit d is helpful in autoimmune disease ; can prevent osteoporosis (as can calcium). Those with lupus are at increased risk of osteoporosis (esp. If put on steroids) but it is questionable if Fosamax (alendronate) is helpful for preventing rather than treating it. What is the concern?: Suspecting that a normal and commonly used vitamin is causing a medical problem is not the same as having a real medical problem. Why are you assuming your calcium level is rising? Why do you suspect that is a medical problem? Why would you think your body could not manage extra calcium? Do you have renal disease?
