I am a 49 yr old female who hasnt been to doctor in over 18 months. What type dr should I see now & what tests/exams.... I have had no previous medical problems. Had annual well woman visits but feel i need to start taking better care of myself.
You should see an internal medicine doctor or a family practitioner yearly for a physical and any screening tests recommended for your age group and your specific health and family history. You should also see a gynecologist regularly for an exam and pap smear. They may need to do this every 1, 2 or 3 years depending on your health and family history.
