Not life-threatening: BUT, very important none-the-less to get excellent treatment. You SHOULD be seeing a hand surgeon (Orthopaedics subspecialty) -and if not, insist on 'why not'? Obviously the hand is extremely important, and any loss of function is very bad. MRSA is a 'bad bug' when you think of all the germs that are out there.
