You should have plain radiographs (X-rays) taken of your knee to ascertain whether you had fracture of your tibial plateau. Bleeding risk: Coumadin (warfarin) certainly increases your risk of bleeding. This is something that would be noted after a few days for sure. Keep an eye on the knee and if the swelling is not improving and gets worse, you will need to see a dr. Get your inr done, and may need to "hold" the coumadin, (warfarin) or even get the knee joint aspirated. If it simply swelled and appears to be doing well, monitor the area. Depends: You have to be careful with that type of injury. It is possible for trauma of the lower leg to start a blood lot in the calf. This, in turn, can cause emboli to travel to the brain or lungs.
