Had foot surgery, using knee scooter, hit unseen hole, fell hit my knee hard. Knee has a knot on top of cap, cap moves a bit, is catching on somethin?
Call ur foot doctor: Your doctor needs to know that you had knee trauma on top of the foot surgery, so they can advise you what to do.The cap is the patella, and it's good that it moves a bit. The knot is from the impact on it form your knee hitting the pavement (hole). If it feels like it's catching on something, it's most likely from the swelling of the cap, that needs to be evaluated by your doctor, and documented. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
Fell and hit knee swelled up big. Xray ok. Dr ssaid hemtoma. Now back and hip sore day later. Why?
Ice first: Generally the first few days we encourage icing to minimize the inflammation. After a few days you can start adding heat to encourage circulation and the healing process. Ice can still be used especially if the knee becomes too inflamed/painful after activity. See a doctor to rule out any fracture or injury to the knee. ...Read more

Hello. : Hello. I can’t diagnose your knee condition. However often times this type of fluid can be due to bursitis. This is swelling of a fat pad. It can become warm, tender and red. If there is also a fever, that can suggest an infected bursa which should be evaluated asap. Cysts can also develop on the knee. This does sound a lot like bursitis. It can be managed by icing and elevating your knee, use of nonsterodial anti-inflammatory medication like motrin, and avoiding activities that increase the pain. If it is not worsening, i would see if your doctor can see you next week. Take care. ...Read more

I have chondromalacia and fell and hit the outside of my knee on Christmas it still hurts all over the front of my knee .what should I do?
Chondral injury: Falling on your knee can produce a tear of the cartilage or a bruise of the knee cap (patella). If you have chondromalacia, it is even easier to do this. A plain x-ray is not likely to demonstrate very much about the cartilage surface. An MRI can show the cartilage surface with high-resolution. Discuss this with your doctor to determine if imaging is necessary at this time. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
About a week ago i fell off a dirt bike hard and directly hit my knee. It is still swollen and i can't bend it back all the way. Is this normal?
Could have an injury: Hopefully, your injury is a simple strain and bruise but more serious injuries need be excluded. You should see a physician for an exam and probably an x-ray to check for a fracture of your knee cap. You may need an MRI to look for torn ligaments or cartilage. You should not ignore ongoing symptoms as some injuries require surgical repair to have the best outcome. ...Read more
