When I was young I fell and hit my forehead so I have a deep scar that seems like a cut in the skin so what should I do?
My 2yr old fell and hit her forehead on a living room table and she made a bump it look like it almost open a month ago and she still has the bump.
Not uncommon: The bump is usually where a collection of blood forms between the scalp and bone. This can originate from broken blood vessels or scuffing the skull surface. Over time this will usually fade but the area is not well supplied by blood vessels so it can take months. There is also a possibility a calcium deposit can form at the site, allowing it to persist longer. ...Read more
2 weeks ago healthy 46 y/o f hit forehead on stall door, fell hit rt side forehead on paper holder. Hematoma on center forehead, gone w/ ice in 2 dys. S?
No major concerns: You had blunt trauma to your forehead from the fall. Hematoma is just a small collection of blood beneath the skin surface. These can be resorbed on their own. If you fell hard enough, there is the possibility of a fracture. This is something that should be evaluated with x-rays and/or a ct scan after a full physical evaluation. ...Read more

Closed head injury: Most serious closed head injuries are associated with loss of consciousness, vomiting, confusion or other neurological signs occurring immediately or shortly after the injury. My 2yr. Old slipped and fell and hit her forehead off the tile floor. She has a pretty big bump and had a small bloody nose should I bring her to er?
You could.: Kids are going to fall down, hit their heads, and get things like a bloody nose. You can take her to the doctor. That's always a safe bet, and kids have to be checked often anyway as they are vulnerable. However, if the nosebleed stops, and the kid acts normal, and the bump doesn't get worse looking, she is likely fine and just has to learn to be careful, and watched more closely. ...Read more

No tumor: Trauma is not a carcinogenic factor so that injuring one's head can not induce cancer formation. I Just fell and hit my head on a Nightstand. Just above my forehead. How long should I wait before going to sleep?
Ouch!: Sorry you bonked your head. The deal with head injuries is this: it's not the going to sleep that's important. If you feel okay after bumping your head (other than slight bruise symptoms), then you should be awoken every 2 hour by someone for the next 24 hours to make sure you are okay and you are alert, and your pupils are equal and you can move your arms and legs fine. 6 month old fell off of changing table onto carpet and hit forehead and landed on side of shoulder. When should I take her to ER or be concerned?
Depends on variables: The condition of the kid should guide your actions. If the kid passed out, seems distant, is vomiting repeatedly and or the soft spot seems hard, an er visit is needed. If the kids behavior and activities seem unchanged, no vomiting, normal feeding activity, you can monitor at home. Gravity: The goose egg was a hematoma. A hematoma is bleeding under the skin that clots and forms a mass. The body then breaks up this clot and some of it "leaks" and appears to spread to a different area. In most cases, the spreading is below the original injury which is simply due to gravity. ...Read more
