Fell down stairs, hit L shoulder on railings between shoulder blade and spine. Mild pain in shoulder, tingling in forearm & fingers. Did I hit a nerve?

Probably: It appears likely that there has been some nerve injury in view of your symptoms. As inflammation and swelling subside the nerve symptoms should improve. However if injury to the vertebral area occurred, there could be disc injury causing the tingling in the arm. See your physician if symptoms persist or worsen. ...Read more

Likely stable: You do not describe any problem other than soft tissue bruising and swelling, so, I would not anticipate any exacerbation of your prior problems. If things deteriorate or symptoms worsen, might contact your doctor and get an X ray of region. ...Read more

Pelvic girdle injury: The mechanism and pain pattern suggest pelvic girdle injury. Look for pink urine that would reflect kidney injury. Pain that radiates to the lower leg would suggest lumbar disk injury. Pelvic injury often has associated sciatica with radiation down the same side buttock and posterior thigh. ...Read more

Fell down stairs...: Injury of this kind requires an examination by a doctor, x-rays/scans as necessary and a close exam of your stomach, back and other areas, a simple urine test to check for blood...however, I strongly believe that sprained or broken ribs with the bruised intercostal muscles are the cause of your breathe-in pains...also, not surprisingly your tail bone (coccyx) may be hurting too... ...Read more

Fell down stairs last week. Since, having strange moving sensations inside of belly or back. Constant. No pain. Doesn't feel like stool movements.

Call dr.: May be gas moving through your colon and intestines. Fortunately, it is probably not internal bleeding which would have manifested itself before a week after your fall. If you think you may be pregnant, best to check your first AM urine a week after your last period. When in doubt, call your doctor's answering service and see your doctor when available. Probably not emergent right now. ...Read more

Get evaluated.: If you are 29 weeks in your pregnancy, and having regular contractions - particularly if they are getting stronger, you could be at risk for going into labor for real, and it's too early! Drink a quart of water - being dehydrated can encourage contractions, and call your OB provider. Good luck. Lgromkomd. ...Read more

I fell down stairs this morning, and my left medial knee has gotten progressively painful with buckling at times with a few different movements today.

? torn meniscus: The buckling could be indicate of a deeper inner knee injury such as a torn meniscus. Hopefully not & just due to joint effusion (inflammatory fluid). Consulting your doctor for an exam is recommended. Often times from exam alone we can diagnose or at least suspect what the problem could be. Sometimes an x-ray and/or us is needed. Fell down stairs, broke tib/fib, foot hanging backwards, 2 plates & 10 screws, 1 year later plates and screws removed, told I can never run again. Why?

Varies: I would not hesitate to get a follow up appointment and specifically answer that question. Presumably if your plates and screws have been removed your fractures are healed. One of the more common reasons we might tell the patient that is if they have quite a bit of post traumatic arthritis on their follow up X-ray and want to try to protect the joint. ...Read more
