Fairly normal: This is considered normal unless you are having numbness or pain when lying down that gets better when sitting up. Factors that may make your symptoms worse are a sedentary lifestyle, exposed feet, cold ambient temperature. Exercise, warmer room temperature, and socks will all help your symptoms. Cold hands...warm...: Temperature is controlled by the nervous system. Brain sends signals to your extremities to monitor how much blood gets around. It is not an uncommon problems at all. If there is any pain associated with this, you may want to get your legs checked. Being in Texas, it would be hard to say that you have Raynaud's phenomenon...but it could be possible. ...Read more

Feet get really cold and painful when i go to bed . Why ? How can I help prevent this from happening ? I exercise 5 days a week by the way.

Vascular or Nerve ca: Pain as you describe is either of an arterial vascular issue or nerve abnormality. Cold temperatures at night can aggravate both causes. Vascular issues could be from decreased coronary output, peripheral artery blockage or vasospasm. The first thing that I would try, however, is not eat or drink before bed, for several days, just to see if you have the same reactions. If everything returns to normal, then, problem solved.
