Dry eye treatment: Your description sounds like dry eye. Initial treatment is frequent artificial tears during the day, ointment at night, warm compresses a few times a day, and omega-3 fatty acid supplements. If no improvement, you should see an eye doctor for further evaluation.

Try this: Flood your eyes with artificial tears. If the discomfort is not relieved by this, then see an ophthalmologist for evaluation.

Have your sinuses: Checked, and a complete eye exam too. You want to have a dilated exam and make sure it's normal. Discuss with the eye doctor if you have flashing lights and rule out ocular migraine or headaches. Also spend less time on the computer.

Why do I feel like something is poking my eye when I'm trying to sleep?

Why do I feel like something is poking my eye when I'm trying to sleep?

Dryness and erosions: Tear production is lower when we rest and sleep. Eye movement stops before we start dreaming and enter rem (rapid eye movement) sleep. If there is no lubrication between the lid and the eye, then you start to "sandpaper" your corneas when rem sleep begins. This can lead to painful corneal erosions that hurt and can actually wake you up. A lubricant gel before going to bed cn break this cycle.

I always feel like something is in my eye always blinking and rubbing my eyes no dry eyes tried drops and do not help Cause? What to do?

Dry eye: There are many causes of dry eye. Many cases of dry eye require other forms of therapy besides artificial tears. Fish oil by mouth is often helpful. Scrubbing your eyelashes with baby shampoo and hot water is helpful as well. Sometimes other therapy is needed as well. These therapies would require assistance from an ophthalmologist.

Ophthamologist first: Evaluation by an ophthamologist. May be iritis or keratitis which needs to be accurately diagnosed. May also be a ptyergium that can be made worse by dryness. Check it out with a specialist.

Why do I feels like there is something in my eye but there isnt?

Why do I feels like there is something in my eye but there isnt?

Dry eye: Most common cause of foreign body sensation is dry eye. Otc artificial tears usually do the trick. However, if you were doing any activities recently where it was possible you may have gotten something in the eye, it would be best to have an ophthalmologist look to make sure there are no foreign bodies in the eye or under the lids.

Corneal irritation: There could be a number of things causing your irritation. It is impossible to diagnose the problem without a complete eye exam by an ophthalmologist. You should have your eyes examined to determine what the problem is. Dry eyes, allergies, corneal irritation and eyelid disorders can all cause foreign body sensation. Good luck!

Probably blepharitis: Numerous problems can cause these symptoms, but often this is from blepharitis and secondary dry eyes. Blepharitis is a very common inflammatory condition of the eyelids that can cause itching, dryness and crusting and can lead to dry eyes. Dry eyes often present with symptoms such as a foreign body sensation, tearing, intermittent blurred vision, sandy/gritty feeling, and eye fatigue.

Dryness?: Your symptoms are consistent with dry eyes. You can try OTC artificial tears 4x/day and see if it helps. Either way, it is a good idea to see an eye MD for a definitive diagnosis.

I feel like there is something inside my eye, but there's nothing? I got that feeling after rubbing my eye

Corneal abrasion: You might have scuffed the cornea with your eye rubbing. If no better in 24 hours I would seek out an urgent care center of a primary care physician. There a fluoroscein test can confirm this diagnosis or perhaps lead you to a different diagnosis and subsequent treatment. Bottom line: if not resolving spontaneously within 24 hours of onset best to get a professional to evaluate in person
