I feel like I have an air bubble in my chest. It hurts to swallow?

See a doctor...: Painful swallowing is potentially a sign of a significant esophageal problem including infectious esophagitis. An alternative and less serious cause for your symptoms might be "globus hystericus" caused by anxiety. I suggest you visit with your doctor about these symptoms. Good luck!

When I smoke it feels like an air bubble is trapped inside of my body & it moves from my chest, neck, shoulder, & into my head. It tightens my chest.

When I smoke it feels like an air bubble is trapped inside of my body & it moves from my chest, neck, shoulder, & into my head. It tightens my chest.

Bronchospasm: Of course you do. Your body does not want your smoke or fire or the tar and other chemicals from smoking. It causes your lungs to constrict and to react and to get swollen and inflamed. I am happy to hear that you are finally listening to your body complain to you.

Gas: The worst case would be a heart problem. Please make sure to have that checked out. It could possibly just be gas bubbles but be sure to rule out heart issues.

Mgt: If it is related to GERD then an antacid may relieve the pain. If you have any trouble breathing though, a visit to the ED is indicated. A virtual appt is available online to follow up: healthtap. Com/DosanjhMD Code: NCYHPZ

I have an air bubble in my chest that fluctuates between my heart and the bottom of my throat. What could it be and how do I get rid of it?

I have an air bubble in my chest that fluctuates between my heart and the bottom of my throat. What could it be and how do I get rid of it?

If no injury: And no trouble swallowing, breathing, or with acid reflux, this could just be gas. Try Simethicone or antacid with Simethicone and see if it helps you belch. If that relieves it, nothing else is necessary. If not, you might have something else going on and should be seen, perhaps have an x-ray or esophageal study. Good luck!

Why can't my doctors know where the air bubbles come from in my chest cavity?

They can: Lung-trachea or esophagus those are the only air containing structures in the chest. Usually from blebs in lung, or following lung trauma or surgery is where one gets persistent pneumothorax or air leak. With some infections, the germs will generate gas bubbles but doubt that is the issue!

Gallbladder removed almost 2 weeks ago having an air bubble under ribs middle of chest got this when was in bed with husband doing adult stuff?

Chest discomfort: Any chest discomfort that occurs during stress or physical exertion should be investigated as it could be reflective of cardiac disease. Your discomfort may simply be due to recent surgery which caused temporary muscular or nerve tissue injury/irritation. If symptoms recur, consult your physician for evaluation.
