GERD to THROAT: To prevent GERD -- eat smaller meals, chew more thoroughly, make posture straighter, get up and walk after eating, sip water during and after eating, eat less meat. AND of course, take acid blocker or acid reducer each evening 30 min before eating, such as omeprazole or Pepcid (famotidine). Both are OTC. ...Read more
Suffering from long term acidity & Food/Liquid reflux to food pipe. Taking Zantac. Now, Dr gave me Pantoprazole 40 mg. It sorted the acidity & reflux somehow but every evening, I'm feeling bit nauseous. No vomiting or pain but an urge of wet burping.?
Burping: The meds that you mentioned both tell the cells lining the walls of your stomach to reduce the AMOUNT of acid they produce. Stomach acid can still move up the esophagus. A "Worry Script": You might want to try writing a "worry script": essentially, pick one of your worries ; write about the worst thing that could happen if that thing were to actually happen. Many people don't like to think about their worries coming true even though they know that thinking about something doesn't make it so ; that a thought can't hurt them. More info:http://bit. Every time I'm hungry I get a constant feeling like I'm going to gag. It makes me not want to eat, which makes it last longer. Why is this happening?
When we are preparing to eat, our stomach getsready to receive food by increasing acid ("enterogastric reflEx"). This may cause some discomfort. Also, and this part is speculation, this could lead to acid reflUx ("GERD") into the esophagus which is commonly reported as a gagging sensation. You can try taking over-the-counter antacid; if not helping, discuss further w/ a doctor. ...Read more
