Hello. For the last 2 days I have a feeling like there is food stuck in the base of my esophagus. I can swallow but swallowing food goes down slow. I have a very minor sore throat and feel the need to burp a lot. When I burp i can feel the lump again.

I've had 3 episodes in the past 5months where food is getting stuck in my lower esophagus. Takes 20 min of pain, mucous and gurgling before it passes.

Blockage: it sounds like there is a blockage in your feeding tube or esophagus. The pain is from food getting stuck on the way to your stomach. I would recommend a liquid diet with yogurt, Ensure and water. A barium swallow x-ray would be helpful to find where food is getting stuck.
