Hi I have a feeling of lump throat from almost 20 days ..just a feeling no pain and sometimes feel difficult if I try to swallow my saliva and I see s?
Past 3 days been feeling lump in throat when I swallow, been told its anxiety. I don't think it is, it happens when I'm not stressed?
Probably not serious: Feeling a painless lump in the throat on swallowing is quite often a stress symptom in female patients. It is oftentimes described as "having a ball in my throat"(Globus pharyngis) If there is no difficulty swallowing normal size pieces of food (i.e. You don't have to cut your food into tiny pieces to swallow) it's is not likely there is anything serious causing it. Increased vagal tone: I checked with other physicians on Global Rounds & received only 1 reply which made any sense: increased parasympathetic (vagal) tone. Feeling of lump in throat. Take Nexium (esomeprazole) 40mg once daily for acid, can I take 2 and will it ease this lump? What other options can I try of not!
Anxiety, Stress: Feeling of lump in the throat and acid are likely due to stresses of relationships with unresolved conflicts and feelings, stresses of school, work, and finances. These stresses can cause anxiety. Alcohol can make acidity worse. Increasing Nexium (esomeprazole) to 2 tablets/day will not be beneficial for anxiety. Lump feeling in throat. On and off for several weeks. Noticed increase in mucous in throat as well. Lump feeling really noticeable when turning head. Sometimes feeling will go away then come back hours or day or two later. No other symptoms.

Possibly: Even though your whole head or body goes into an MRI machine, the images and evaluation are focused on specific areas. Sometimes an abnormality in an adjacent area will be noticed by a radiologist, but an MRI of the head does not fully image the throat and neck.
