Probably not serious: Feeling a painless lump in the throat on swallowing is quite often a stress symptom in female patients. Lump in throat: No. Food in the trachea would cause immediate, severe coughing. Far more dramatic than a lump in the throat. You are mauch more likely to have some issue with you esophagus/stomach.
