Feeling Guilty About Weaning Breastfeeding At 6 Months
I have been feeling under the weather ( physically, getting sick more often) since I weaned breastfeeding. What should I do?
to say Guilt is any way I can control you and make you feel anxious doing it. Its an atypical anxiety state that you feel when you are accused of doing something you should not have done, or you didn't do something you should have. The underlying feeling you have is resentment, but that remains unexpressed as you ...Read more
Why: Weaning is a natural point of transition for infants/children.Like learning to self settle/sleep alone, toilet train, separate and go to school, it is part of growing up. There are no nutritional superiorities at that age, when they have a collection of table foods diluting the effects. If the kid needs comforting/nurturing i would look to a different way to accomplish that goal. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
I just weaned my LO From breastfeeding, it's been a week and I'm still producing milk.. What can I do to help dry up?
Cold compress: The best way is to do it very gradually, slightly reducing the number or length of feedings over weeks to months. However, if there is a reason you need to stop suddenly and quickly, wear a very tight bra, put cold/ice packs on breasts to reduce blood flow, minimize time spent in warm showers and minimize stimulation of the breasts with minimal touching and massaging. ...Read more

How do you begin to wean when breastfeeding? He doesn't like bottles so i give him sippy cups and he only bf's when he is sleepy
Weaning: It's fortunate that your baby prefers to drink from a sippy cup. If s/he is less than 12 months, give formula; if more than 12 mos, give whole milk, in the cup. Start cutting breastfeeding one at a time every 3 - 5 days. If you have saved expressed breast milk, you can mix it with the formula/whole milk to give some taste of breast milk. ...Read more
Attempting to wean my 21 months old from breastfeeding. How much cow's milk does he need instead? He's refusing the cup/bottle so far. Suggestions?
I weaned my baby from breastfeeding. What will i give my weaned baby to make him eat food and be strong and healthy. Thanks?
Depend on baby's age: If your baby is younger than 12 months of age, i would recommend baby formula till 12 months. After that you can give homogenized milk, but limit the amount to no more than 24 oz a day. If you give more milk, chance of developing iron deficiency is very high. The baby also should eat jarred baby foods, increasing the volume gradually. Start with vegetables such squash, green beans, and liver, beef. ...Read more
