8 weeks into 2nd pregnancy and want to continue breastfeeding 8 mth old full time. Realistic? Feeling tired and eating well is hard a few days now.

Depends: I have had several women in my practice who have been successful with nursing baby#1 until baby #2 is born. Most women, however, are very fatigued the first trimester, combine that with the demands of mothering an 8 month old, possible poor intake from morning sickness, maintaining your relationship with the father of the baby and your personal health, it sounds overwhelming. ...Read more

Weaning baby off breastfeeding, and breasts are feeling swollen in areas/tender. Have not fed/pumped in 48 hours. Do I need to pump or will it decease?

Several choices: I have had some moms cold turkey (put baby on a bottle & bind with a pre-pregnancy bra)& everybody in the house is miserable but a week or so later its done, I don't advise this. Some will start each feed & interrupt baby after 3-5 minutes per breast (take off enough to feel soft) switch then bottle till full. Some will drop one feed every few days. All seem to work, the sweat equity is what varies ...Read more

I'm a 21 yr old female. 115lbs & 5ft8. Breastfeeding mom. I get an uncomfortable sleeping feeling in my right arm when I wake up. Should I be worried?

No.: If it's happened just a handful of times, only after you wake up in the morning, I wouldn't worry about it too much.
