Doctors, can my being very overweight & unfit cause me to feel so drained and tired all the time?

Yes: Hi. Yes, being obese and out of shape is hard on the body. I never tell my obese patients to diet...it doesn't work. Chronic fatigue: Undergoing general anesthesia and surgery is a major stressor to the system. This puts a tremendous burden on the adrenal glands and may suppress the immune system. Most of the time it depends on how healthy or stressed the body was prior to the procedure.
