Feel Pulse Near My Temple
Could use your help docs! a friend told me that she feels a pulse just above her temples, is that normal cuz i don't feel that and she said she has no pain?
Is it normal to be able to feel a strong pulse in left temple but a much weaker pulse in the right temple?
Not likely: No that would not be considered normal. Whether that is significant is another question. Is the stronger pulse temple area tender, or associated with headache? Do you have any other symptoms like dizziness, or visual or movement problems? If so, then do get checked by a clinician. Hope that helps. ...Read more

Is it normal for a healthy person to feel (with their fingers) a fairly strong pulse in their temple?
Yes: There is a temporal artery and it would not be unusual for you to feel that. If there is pain or tenderness over the temple area or if you are having headaches then see a doctor, otherwise don't worry. If you have not had your blood pressure checked recently have that done just to make sure that it is normal. ...Read more
Sometimes without doing anything I feel a strong pulse on the right side of my right temple and sometimes when it does it i get very tired.
Temporal pulse: The location you describe is where your temporal artery lives. If you probe it gently and carefully, you'll find that that pulse is ALWAYS there. If you're feeling occ. forceful beats, you may be feeling palpatiations (as we all have). Avoidance of nicotine, caffeine, decongestants, alcohol, getting plenty of rest and reducing stress as much as possible - all will help. ...Read more
I've been experiencing some pulsing in my temple that comes and goes, what could be causing this.? It's been a week now and i wish knew the cause.
See a doc: If one has new or persisting throbbing of the temples it is something that woudl be worthwhile to have some medical advice and evaliation on - could be heart racing, elevated blood pressure, stress/tension, medication effects, too much caffeine, or other things. While some of these might not be serious - others could. See a doc, good treatment comes from good examination and assessment. ...Read more

Small vein on right side of head, near temple. Can feel pulse on it with finger. Is the vein there, not an issue, or shud it b checked out?
Is it normal to feel a stronger pulse at your right temple? (Note: I can only feel the pulse with my finger, so it doesn't feel like a palpitation)
Strength depending on anatomy: Pulses will vary on the anatomy of the vessel involved. This would mean dependency on the size of the vessel and the course of the vessel through its length. A discrepancy in pulse strength does not necessarily mean a problem. I would ask, why you were feeling your temple pulses in the first place? If you are concerned you should have your Doctor examine you. I suspect you are just fine. ...Read more
I have been getting sinus pain and strong pulse in temples could this be a sinus infection or something else?
Possible infection: Sinus infections can cause sinus pain and headaches. The sensation that you describe of a "pulse in the temples" may be a sign of a headache. I would like to know if you have fever, how long the symptoms have been going on, if there is discolored mucus, if you have been suffering from allergies, if there is a bad taste or smell in your mouth, etc. I think you should be checked by your doctor. ...Read more
Subtle headache in left temple. Pretty constant. Sometimes glares worse. And i can feel my pulse in my temple and forehead. Is it stress?
Probably stress: If you're taking advil, (ibuprofen) and Ibuprofen without relief of your headache, you need to see your doctor for further workup. You state that you've had a ct scan done but it doesn't say the results. It's normal to feel your pulse in your temple. However if you're feeling a pounding pulse, this requires medical attention. You may benefit from seeing an osteopathic physician, who specializes in cranial osteopathy. This may help balance some of your findings in your forehead temple and what may be going on in your neck. ...Read more

I've been having a pulse like sensation on my left temple for days now no pain, normal blood pressure. What could it be? I also have severe anxiety.
Is it normal to feel pulse on one temple stronger than the other? Also have numbness on that side of face/forehead. Ct normal. 20yrs old.
Relax: At 20 years old you are starting to notice bodily functions you have ignored in the past. Also you have probably forgotten or not experienced true severe pain or illness. A good rule of thumb : If you have to wonder if something hurts or not then it doesn't hurt. Likewise if a sensation or self examination isn't unpleasant and there's nothing new (like a lump or skin lesion) then you're ok! ...Read more

I was very angry tonight and my feet and hands went very cold, not numb. My face also got very hot and it felt like my temples were pulsing. Normal?
Sympathetic reaction: Yes, it can be. This is classic sympathetic reaction with fight or flight response. There is sudden release and surge of adrenaline in the blood with spasms of blood vessels in feet and hand which makes them cold, hot face and temples pulsating which means the blood pressure was high too. Need to divert anger towards a peaceful resolution, and do regular exercises. If it persists, see a doctor. ...Read more
