Salzmann's nodules: hyaline deposits between the epithelium and Bowmans membrane of Cornea causing astigmatism. Superficial keratectomy of astigmatism-inducing Salzmann’s nodules should always be performed prior to cataract surgery. Stable keratometry readings and IOL calculations cannot be reliably obtained until 3 to 6 weeks after surgery. Toric IOLs should be avoided because of the risk of recurrent nodule. ...Read more

How much solid and liquid food does a 11 month old breast feeding baby on an average takes per day.my baby is very lean?

Calories : Most babies by one year have tripled their birth weight. That is your goal. Calorie wise a one year old of average weight is eating about 1000 calories per day. This comes as 3-4 solid meals a day and 3-4 bottles of formula. At one year babies can switch to regular milk if they are growing. If your baby is less in weight or calories continue formula. See your doctor for further advice. ...Read more

Just in case breast feeding baby emergency if my 3 month old in an emergency can not nurse from mother what kind of milk would I have to buy that would not hurt her.

Any : Any infant under one year of age if not breastfeeding or drinking expressed breastmilk in a bottle should be supplemented with infant formula made for ages 0-12months. There are a variety of brands available for you to choose from. As long as it states its for infants 0-12months of age it will suffice. You can start with any milk based formula, and if baby has trouble tolerating it (diarrhea, increasing gas or fussiness) a soy based infant formula can be tried. In this case i would recommend to seek the advice of your child's pediatrician or family doctor. Remember breast milk is recommended for infants under 1, however that is not always possible, and formula is a great second choice. Keep up the good work mom! ...Read more
