Depends on why: Self-feeding depends on fine motor & oral-motor skills & typically starts at 9 mos. Can she grasp objects with the palm of her hand (4 mos.), get her hands to her mouth (5-6 mos.) "scissor" grasp with thumb and forefinger(7-8 mos.) or pincer grasp (10-12 mos.)? Does she swallow foods other than liquids & hold/play with a spoon?
