Caution: Be cautious with anxiolytics. They can help, but are best used short-term as they can be very addictive. Perhaps a better long term strategy would be to understand why you are so afraid the same thing will happen to you as happened to your father. Your risk factors may be entirely different and you may really not be at risk. Also, consider an increase in the Celexa (citalopram) if you are under 20 g a day. ...Read more

Unreasonable.: Fear is unfounded. Risk of heart disease within next 10 years is extremely low. Risk of dying or being injured from accidents, alcohol, or recreational activities is far greater. Reasons for misperception of risk are complex and should be explored with someone who can help you work through it.
