Will 65 mg Solodyn make my Yaz (drospirenone and ethinyl estradiol) birth control less effective?

No: Solodyn (minocycline http://www.drugs.com/solodyn.html) will not decrease effectiveness of any hormonal birth control (although you still need to take every 24hrs as directed). With that said, it's still a good idea to make him wrap it up each & every time. Switched from desogen (ethinyl estradiol and desogestrel) to generic apri. Are there any differences?

Switched from desogen (ethinyl estradiol and desogestrel) to generic apri. Are there any differences?

Yes: Generic versions of medications are usually fine, but they are not identical. The fda allows for a modest degree of difference in "bioequivalence". Essentially, a generic medication is allowed to be sold if it is between 80% - 125% of the brand name medication. Most generic medications are fine for most people, but there is always some percentage of patients for whom they are different. ...Read more

Emergency contraceptives use levongestrel as the progesterone, so why do yaz, (drospirenone and ethinyl estradiol) yasmin, beyaz contain drospirenone instead?

Side-effects: There are many different types of progesterone. The positive and negative effects of a birth-control pill are determined by the type of progesterone in the pill. Experienced hairloss/thinning & cystic acne. Taking ocella (drospirenone and ethinyl estradiol) & spironolactone 25mg. Acne under control not thinning. Can i switch vitex for ocella (drospirenone and ethinyl estradiol)?

NO: Ocella (drospirenone and ethinyl estradiol) is a birth control pill which helps acne.
