Let me advice you: When ever you have the pain wrap around the rib cage? This means to me there a pressure on the nerve between the ribs (above and below). This not common in lipoma. I would suggest to have check with thoracic surgeon to be sure nothing bad. Good luck. ...Read more

No probably not: As far as I know, lipomas do not come from exercise. They are benign fatty tumors. You probably just noticed it because you were playing tennis and it started irritating you. If your doctor thinks its a lipoma you should consider having it removed so it doesn't continue to grow and cause discomfort. ...Read more

More info: Is it as hard as the bone? does it move above the bone or is it fixed to the rib? how long has it been there? There is more info that is needed. You should have an MD take a look.
