May not be related: Fatty tumors are very common. May folks seek attention for them due to pain. However, the pain is usually not from the lump of fat. There are some other tumor types (neuromas, etc) that will hurt. But these are much less likely. It is usually that there is pain in the area that makes one feel around and find the unrelated lipoma. Let me advice you: When ever you have the pain wrap around the rib cage? This means to me there a pressure on the nerve between the ribs (above and below). This not common in lipoma. I would suggest to have check with thoracic surgeon to be sure nothing bad. Good luck. ...Read more
