Colitis from low blood flow with ulcers, elev Herat rate blood in stool and dark urine. Is this still IBS?

Probably, UC or ER: Colitis untreated can lead to many complications, including colon cancer. I am hoping a colonoscopy with biopsy has already been done. However, there is no rule that there cannot be more than one process going on, although less likely. There could be viral hepatitis causing dark urine or acute nephritic syndrome with tea-colored urine. The pancreatitis and weight loss is scary in someone so young. ...Read more

65 yr old lady complain of chronic fatigue n anemia n blood in stool. Endoscopy n colonoscopy are normal. What's it? What do next?

Small bowel: Assuming the source of anemia is from the gut (anemia may be from other sources)...The gut includes the small bowel and large bowel (colon). Egd evaluates the esophagus and stomach. Egd can miss dieulafoy lesions or avms. Colonscopy is very good but not perfect. If both egd and colonoscopy are negative and accurate, then bleeding can be from the small bowel. Capsule endoscopy could be considered. ...Read more
