How does fatigue affect hearing ability? I can't hear what's going on when i'm tired.

How does fatigue affect hearing ability? I can't hear what's going on when i'm tired.

Fatigue and hearing: What you describe is most likely a function of your central hearing mechanism, or processing. I suspect if we looked at your actual hearing levels, they would not change even when you are tired. However, your attention, focus and processing are all impacted by fatigue and are all necessary for auditory (hearing) processing. Obtaining an objective hearing test is always an important first step. ...Read more

What quality of life issues can be improved from septoplasty? Have asthma, apnea, UARS, hearing issues, fatigue, poor sleep. What do patients say?

What quality of life issues can be improved from septoplasty? Have asthma, apnea, UARS, hearing issues, fatigue, poor sleep. What do patients say?

Septoplasty: Do the surgery. It will help your breathing and the sleep apnea as you will breathe better, and if you have cpap, you will tolerate it much better. All of my patients use their cpap on the first post op day as I do not pack the nose after surgery unless you are bleeding. Good luck and feel better! ...Read more

Ear ache, head ache, loss of hearing, dizziness, diareah, blurry vision, fatigue? Just got off z-pack for bronchitis?

Ear ache, head ache, loss of hearing, dizziness, diareah, blurry vision, fatigue? Just got off z-pack for bronchitis?

Z-pack didn't work!: Sounds like you may have a viral infection (which would not respond to an antibiotic). What were your symptoms when this all started? Have those symptoms resolved and these are new? Or did you just not get better? Diarrhea could be from the z-pack. The rest is consistent with viral upper respiratory infection. Go to your doctor or urgent care for recheck. ...Read more

Do you lose vision & hearing if all dorsal roots & what's equivalent in the trigeminal area get cut off? (losing ability to feel any pain basically)

No: Is this just a theoretical question? Loss of the input from the dorsal root ganglia wouldn't just eliminate pain sensation, it would eliminate all tactile sensation: Fine touch, vibration, kinesthetic sense, temperature, light touch, crude touch...not a situation that's compatible with any kind of functional life. Control of muscles requires sensory feedback. ...Read more
