When your due date arrives, you will be more than ready to have your baby! Most women deliver the baby somewhere between 37 and 42 weeks. According to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, only 5% of babies arrive on the exact due date. Approximately 7% of babies are not delivered by 42 weeks, and when that happens, it is referred to ...Read more

Repeat or see OB: If you have sx of pregnancy (nausea, breast tenderness, missed menses, fatigue, etc) repeat the test in a couple of days. Don't spend a fortune on tests, dollar store tests can be accurate but you get what you pay for (ie-not the most reliable...). If you want confirmation, see your doc or OB & get your morning urine checked since it's usually more concentrated & easier to see positive results. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers

Confidence: on the day that you would expect your period by urine pregnancy test can be over 90% predictive of whether or not you are pregnant. However, keep in mind these tests are not perfect. It is always good to get a second opinion from a primary care provider if you continue to have doubts for further testing. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

I took a first response pregnancy test about almost 4 weeks after sex. Came up negative. Is this a trustful reading ? Used morning urine.
Yes: A urine pregnancy test done correctly gives a reliable result 3 weeks after sex (3 weeks after when conception might have happened) or 1 week after missing a period. If done sooner, a positive result is likely real, but a negative result may be due to testing too soon, and therefore lead to a repeat test. If a woman has her normal regular period, then she is not pregnant, and a test is not needed. ...Read more

You could: You could repeat it or try a different test but it isn't likely to be any different at this point. If you were pregnant, it should be positive by now. Pill induced amenorr: It is VERY common to get light or absent periods on birth control pills, especially the newer low estrogen pills. Had sex on 4/2 and took Plan B on 4/5. Took first response pregnancy test on 4/15 & 4/20. Both negative. Have an irregular period. Am i in the clear?
LIkely: It seems likely. Taking plan b, as you know, 72 hours after unprotected intercourse, isn't the ideal, but better than not. It sounds as if by now if you were pregnant, a pregnancy test would be positive. I would, in the meantime, find a more reliable form of birth control and wait another cycle so you can know where you're at in terms of ovulation and menstruation, if at all possible. ...Read more
Can you get positives on cheap pregnancy test, and then get negative on first response, what does it mean if you do?
Home tests accurate: In the United States home urine tests are all quite accurate. False positives are extremely rare and due to specific medical conditions. But the test needs to be read at the 3 minute mark. If the test is left sitting and read later, it will be falsely positive. If the tests were read at the correct time, it may mean that there was a very early miscarriage of sorts. ...Read more
