What can I do about a tennis related hurt wrist?

What can I do about a tennis related hurt wrist?

Depends: It depends on the cause of the pain and injury. If traumatic, then a fracture or a ligament tear have to be considered. If no trauma, then tendonitis would be at the top of list. To start, rest from tennis, ice the area for 20 minutes 3-4 times/day and consider some anti-inflammatories if the pain is not related to major injury. Obviously, seeing an ortho/sports med specialist would be helpful. ...Read more

Fell yesterday, hurt wrist, painful can move fingers, but wrist hurts when i turn it or when i try to grip, is it just a sprain, not swollen.

Get help: Chances are that it is a fracture, rather than a sprain. However, even a wrist sprain can also be serious and require treatment. People think that a bone is not fractured if it moves, but that is not true. See your doctor and get x-rayed and examined. ...Read more

Fell in shower two months ago only hurt wrist. Now left shoulder pain, stiffness, weakness in arm, can't lay on it, pain 8/10, hurts to move it. ?????

Soft tissue: Fall onto upper extremity begot acute wrist pain & delayed shoulder pain suggests that shoulder disorder is sympathetic response to primary wrist injury & splinting. Shoulder muscle spasm is likely, followed by tendonitis. In that there was not an instant shoulder injury nor pain, ligament injury is unlikely. Heat, rest , acupuncture, topical Cannabis lotion, & massage are considerations. ...Read more

Hurt wrist in April, had MRI, shows ganglion cyst, effusion and tear but Dr says nothing wrong, why? Painful and hurts to move fingers.

Hurt wrist in April, had MRI, shows ganglion cyst, effusion and tear but Dr says nothing wrong, why? Painful and hurts to move fingers.

MRI explains it: "effusion and tear" of the structures in the wrist or hand, could cause the symptoms. Not sure why your doctor said "nothing wrong". Sometimes a surgeon will say "nothing I can do" and a patient hears "nothing wrong". Doctors who specialize in PM&R (or Physiatry), use non surgical ways of treating soft tissue injuries. Might be worth seeing one. Bringing previous records is always a good idea ...Read more

Acute occlusion=pain: Acute occlusion of vessels does cause severe pain - prime example is a heart attack when the vessels supplying the heart get occluded. Arterial occlusions are an emergency. If a person gets a gradual occlusion and the end organ has alternate blood supply then there may not be pain associated with it. See a specilaist urgently. ...Read more
