Failed Rectocele Repair
Relatively short: You should discuss the planned procedure and post-op care with your surgeon. Generally, a rectocele (posterior) repair recovery time is relatively short. You should be up and walking the day after surgery. You may experience some vaginal and rectal discomfort and pressure. You may be back to relatively normal activities except for heavy lifting and sexual activity within a couple of weeks.
I had a total diVinci hyster 11/14. I now have gr 3 rectocele and 3 cystocele. Could they have happened from the hyster? When should I have it repaire
Here are some. ..: The cystorectocele to a degree after hysterectomy is nothing uncommon, but indicates you have weak pelvic supporting muscles & tissues, which may in turn predispose its recurrence although surgical repair may be inevitable. As to when and how to repair it, that should be decided after proper evaluation & counseling though collaborating with surgical specialist of such procedures. Best wish. ..
Had rectocele repaired 7m ago. It feels like there's a pocket all around my anal opening. I can get bm out but little pieces get stuck. Is this normal?
Check repair: The rectocoele repair done previously may be "breaking down" or infected. Have your previous surgeon evaluate the area.

I had rectocele repair one year ago. No problems since but was wondering whether anal sex is something I shouldn't try?
Definitely: I can not condone anal sex, especially in view of the surgical repair you have had. Severe trauma could occur including recurrence or worse, loss of control to variable degrees or infection by some nasty diseases. The anus was designed as an exit not an entrance.See 1 more doctor answer

I have a grade 3 cystocele & rectocele I'm having repaired on the 27/11/15, how long after my surgery can I lift up my 15mth old, 12kilo daughter again?
Yes: If you explain that is part of your goal, usually the gyn will avoid this though so as not to cause problems with painful intercourse. Instead they will build up the support at the opening which in effect narrows the opening, making things more snug. See a gyn with a lot of reconstructive experience though like a urogynecologist.
Yes: This operation is low enough down in the abdomen that it can be done with spinal anesthesia. You will probably receive some IV sedation to help you relax during the case. Discuss your requests for anesthesia with your anesthesiologist before the operation. Hope all goes well.See 1 more doctor answer
