I have facial numbness on the right side for the last 2 weeks.?

Get it checked out: Get a good neuro exam. Then I suspect you'll be having an MRI study performed to exclude treatable conditions. The trigeminal nerve or one of its branches might be affected on the right side or you might have a white matter demyeling condition of the brain like ms. There are other possibi;ites but less likely in a 37 year old.

Dental issue?: I'm not clear on what your are referring to when you say you have a "sinking tooth"? Regardless, these types of situations cannot be diagnosed over the internet. You need to discuss all your symptoms and concerns with a dentist who can properly and accurately answer all your questions. If you are not confident with your own dentist's treatment and advice, get a second opinion before continuing.

Many causes: The face is inervated by the trigeminal nerve. Numbness can be due to problem with this nerve such as injury, infection, multiple sclerosis, tumor or compression of the nerve. Facial numbness: Some times people mean facial "weakness" when they say numbness. If you are having weakness with facial drooping that is recurring, you may have a facial nerve pathology. You need to have a temporal bone scan such as an MRI to rule out such pathology. Do you have tingling of face? Is there a change in your hearing with those episodes? An ENT or a neurologist would be the best specialty to consult.

Can allergies be the cause of facial numbness?

Define numbness.: If by "numbness" you mean a tingling sensation on your face, yes, an allergic reaction can produce that sensation. Yes, it can.: Tonsillitis is an inflammation of the tonsils and this can impinge upon the neighboring facial and cranial nerves which can cause numbness in a very discrete distribution depending on the nerves effected which should improve as the tonsillitis does.
