Depends on skin type: If your skin is very fair, you are a candidate for more aggressive treatments like fractionated co2 laser under your eyes. I find this to be a very useful device in the management of crepey under eye skin. One treatment is usually sufficient. There are also new radiofrequency skin tightening devices you may benefit from. Be sure you are using a good moisturizer under your eyes as well. ...Read more

Not necessarily.: Some frames work better than others with wide noses. Contacts can be used as well, as can refractive surgery. Discuss your options with an optometrist or ophthalmologist. Not to worry: Your myopia is not a high degree. Reading can be good for the mind and is not harmful to your eyes - keep it up. Floaters are common, at worst annoying but only indicative of harm if they suddenly appear with dozens of floaters and light flashes You are not doing anything dangerous. If you still are worried, you could have an examination by an ophthalmologist (not an optometrist). ...Read more

The power can change over the years (we call that regression), and that can commonly be improved with more lasik (we call that enhancement). If your eyes meet the criteria for the lasik surgeon, then don/t worry. ...Read more

If nearsightedness is from a too-long eyeball, and farsightedness from too short, what are bifocals benefits?
Lense changes: The lens of the eye hardens year by year from birth to about age 52 when it becomes a rock. The impact of this in a practical sense starts at age 38-42 when near vision becomes a problem. Bifocals compensate for this hardening of the lens and allow for both near and far vision with one eyeglass. This is independent of the basic power and occurs in all humans/all refractive states of eyes. ...Read more

Have an annual dilated fundus exam to detect any weak spots in the retina. Sometimes the weak spots are repaired prophylactically. If you have warning signs of a dark curtain coming over the vision, flashes of light, or new floaters, go see the eye MD. ...Read more
