HSV likes stress: Herpes is a nasty virus, and takes advantage of us when we are 'weak' -such as after some kind of stress. Herpes also loves to come out in the same area -so it could well be HSV again. Sometimes a bacteria (Staph) will attack the eyelid-this would be a sty and is quite painful. Warm compress: It's probably a sty, a moderately inflamed "sweat duct" in the eyelid. I tell my patients to get a damp wash cloth and pop it in the microwave for 30 seconds. Test it on your wrist to make sure it's not too hot. Place warm compress the closed eyelid for about5-10 minutes and re-heating as necessary. Over 2wks I've gotten one tiny blister at a time working around inside edge of my bottom eyelid and now one on top lid. They hurt and itch a little. ?

There are a number: of teeny mites that grow on the face and like to live in the eyelashes. Demodex folliculorum. This is the most likely explanation for your symptoms. You should see a health care provider for evaluation and to receive appropriate prescription therapy.
