Could be dry: It's less likely allergy or infection due to lack of symptom except the redness and dryness. You may have dry eye on that side. Just be careful with hand and eye hygiene if in case is a viral conjuctivitis that way you will not spread to other eye or others. Use artificial tears, heat pack and baby shampoo wash the lashes.
