Eye Pressure Nose Blowing
I was hit in the face recently and now when I blow my nose my eye moves like outward due to the pressure, why is it doing this?
Emergency problem: After facial trauma to eye sockets or the sinuses, a person SHOULD NOT blow her nose. If she blows her nose, air and bacteria can be forced through the cracked bones and into the space behind the eyeball, thus pushing the eyeball forward. Bad things like and infection behind the eyeball and even blindness can happen. An eye MD doctor and an ENT doctor should evaluate now; or one can visit the E.R. ...Read more
When I blow my nose liquid squirts out my eye. I have read various cases of this, however, I have I.I.H so I worry it could be increased pressure..
Squirting eye: 1st, it is probably normal. EVERYONE has tiny tubes the carry our tears away from our eyes and down into the nose aided by gravity...That's why our nose runs when we cry. If you blow your nose and that pressure pushes from your nose backwards, that pressure can push the tears backwards and back where they started, in your eyes. Then they have to start that journey all over again...So relax ...Read more

Been having pressure n my face between my nose & eyes runny nose, cough, lightheaded when blowing my nose it's kinda green alil? No fever no aches!
Good old cold!: Sounds like you have a good ol' cold. Congestion from the cold gives that pressure feeling, and the drainage can cause the cough. Kinda green means the body is sending white blood cells to fight the infection - that's a good thing. Since no fever or aches, doubt influenza or sinus infection. Wait 10-14 days with symptomatic care (humidifier, saline rinses of sinuses...) and if not better, doctor. ...Read more

What is the best way to relieve sinus pressure in head. Have a cold and when I blow my nose I feel pressure in back of head and all over?
Nasal rinsing/neti-pot saline rinse is a very effective FIRST line remedy for acute sinus issues (I usually recommend chitorhino (chitorhino. Com). You may want to consider a short course of nasal decongestants like Afrin or neosynephrine - but use these for no more than 3 days.
A "cold" that lasts more than 7-10 days is a sinus infection by definition - antibiotics are needed at that point. ...Read more

Find another Dr.: Yellow discharge usually means infection, and may require antibiotics. In the meantime, I suggest Afrin nasal spray to shrink your nasal and sinus membranes, and open up your eustachian tubes. Also, get a cool mist humidifier, and fill it with one bottle of hydrogen peroxide and two bottles of water. The H2O2 will kill virus and bacteria on contact, and break down into harmless water and oxygen ...Read more

Steroid responder: Some people respond to steroids when taking systemically or locally as an eye drop or inhaler, The response in the eye is an increase in the ocular pressure. Discontinuing the steroid will usually solve the problem, however, a drop to lower the pressure is sometimes necessary to lower the pressure. Steroids should be avoided if possible. ...Read more
