Eye Pain When Focusing
Start with eye exam: Your symptoms suggest perhaps you're having visual changes, although it may be that the headaches are primary, since pain of any kind makes life in general more difficult. Start by ruling out a physical explanation--eye exam, general physical. If those are normal, consider stress, anxiety, & depression, all of which can produce these kinds of physical symptoms and are highly treatable.

Dizzy: With multiple complaints which apparently are uncomfortable, you need to see your pcp to find out the cause, whether medical problem or effect of some medication.
I wear glasses and whenever my eyes hurt, the most outrageous pains come in my head. And my eyes don't focus well. It it weird?
Yes unusual: Glasses should not elicit head pain. To b certain that your prescription is correct, have your eye doc reevaluate your vision. Sometimes an adjustment may help alleviate eye strain. A motility exam is also important to make sure you are able to move your eyes correctly when reading. Some people cannot do this as effectively (convergence insufficiency or excess) which would feel blurry ; uncomfort.
My eyes hurt and loose focus when exposed to reading, bright light and sun light. I wear glasses and my vision is getting worse.?
General health?: Sometimes vision changes can be caused by high or low blood sugar - it is important to be tested for diabetes. Also, sometimes thyroid disease can cause eye changes. Try to avoid too much caffeine and concentrated sugars and see if that helps. Also, it is common in the 40's for the lenses of the eyes to lose the ability to change focus, so I would recommend another eye exam.

Need to examine:
It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without examining you and your symptoms warrant evaluation by a physician, preferably by an ophthalmologist.
Wish you good health!

Evaluate cause: In this situation is best to be evaluated to determine the cause of the pain. If it is part of a constellation of symptoms such as congestion, sinus pain etc - consider seeing your physician. If it is a lone symtpom - then recommend that you see your opthamologist. Eye pain with visual changes warrants prompt assessment.
