I have eye floaters from age 12.At 16 eye flashes started.Now at 18 eye floaters are continuosly noticeable with flashes occur every 8-15 days.

May be: Vitreous is like a jelly inside the eye that changes with advancement of age. Typically the change happens after age of 50. If the person had surgery, trauma or myopia then the change could happen earlier. The vitreous changes may lead to more floaters. If the person suddenly experience many floaters with flashing light and change in vision then he/she needs to see an ophthalmologist asap. ...Read more

No: The clear gel that fills eyeball is normally attached to all parts of the inside of the eye. As we get older it can become more liquid (watery) and detaches from the back of the retina causing flashes & floaters. This can indicate a retinal tear.
