Saturday woke w/gunk on eye. Cleared when blinked. No pink or itch. Sinus infection. Rx'd Tobramycin 2 drops 3x's day for 7 days. Keflex Enuf drops?
Sounds viral: Over all it sounds like a viral infection with both sinus and eyes involved. Bacterial eye infection/conjunctivitis usually have continuous pus like discharge all day. Gunk on eye in the morning is not specific for bacterial infection. Viral infection and allergies can also cause gunk on eye in the morning. Yes: If it causes facial pain and sensitivity, need to get antibiotics after confirmation of the sinusitis by clinical examination, and preferably ct scan of sinuses, to be orderd by the pcp, and if not ct scan atleast xray of sinuses.
