Photopsias: Lattice degeneration shouldn't account for your symptoms by itself. You are at risk for future retinal tears and detachment, though. You already told me that there is no evidence of retinal detachment. If after a thorough exam, your ophthalmologist has found no etiology, then idiopathic vitreous floaters should be diagnosed. Eye hemorrhage : Sounds like you have a bruise ( hemorrhage ) in the whites of your eyes ( conjunctiva) which appears tomato ketchup red and is usually due to rubbing the eye, forceful sneezing or coughing , &/or being on blood thinners. Subconjunctival heme: This sounds like a sub-conjunctival hemorrhage, but i'd recommend an eye exam by your eye doctor tell for sure. Most of the time these hemorrhages happen spontaneously, but they can occur from valsalva maneuvers (coughing, sneezing, vomiting, lifting a heavy weight, straining in the bathroom, etc), high blood pressure, bleeding disorders or blood thinners.
