How can I avoid "dead man" glowing eyes after cataract surgery? Most of my friends who recently had the surgery have eyes that have an eerie glow.

How can I avoid "dead man" glowing eyes after cataract surgery? Most of my friends who recently had the surgery have eyes that have an eerie glow.

Intraocular lens cannot be made this way, but have a very smooth surface which reflects a little of the light like a mirror - giving that glow you have noticed. This is unavoidable but does not affect the vision. ...Read more

For most patients after cataract surgery, they feel colors are generally more vivid and 'whites are whiter' . However , like getting used to a new pair of glasses these new lenses will take some adjustment over the first 6-12 months. ...Read more

After cataract surgery how long to use the eye protection?

Short term: Almost all cataract surgery is done under local; the eye protection is to cover the eye during the period when the anesthetic is still in effect to prevent accidentally poking the eye. It is not used to promote healing. By the next day after surgery, the cover will have been removed and with ordinary caution, the eye will heal nicely. ...Read more
