Eye Burning And Itching
My left eye has been watering for 4 days now. I have no allergies, and my eye has no burning, itching, or redness to it. I also don't feel any object in?
Probably not: Systemic fungal infections can affect the eyes, but not usually in the way you describe. The fungus can get into the eye through the bloodstream and cause a serious condition called endophthalmitis. You can get a fungal infection of the cornea, but it would be unlikely to come from a systemic infection. What you describe sounds more like dry eye/allergy. I would see an ophthalmologist to be sure. ...Read more

A few raised and also flat non itchy non painful bumps on penis head. Non on shaft or balls. Groin also itches. No burning sensation or discharge. I work outside for a living so I sweat. Could this be jock itch or heat rash?
This is likely: Do get this seen by your physician at your yearly physical. We want to be sure it's not pre-cancer -- this pops up as little red splotches on the glans. I admire and respect you as an outdoor worker -- thanks for what you do. Some talcum / gold bond powder to the area before and after can work minor miracles for heat rashes on a guy. ...Read more
My eyes are burning and itching and feel gritty and sticky and were watering could I be getting conjunctivitis?? What can I do
Patience: Conjunctivitis is caused by three things - germs, viruses, and allergies. Itching is usually more associated with allergies. Try flushing your eyes with saline eye drops several times a day and take an oral antihistamine such as Benadryl, (diphenhydramine) zyrtec, or clariten. Ask your pharmacist for an over the counter eye drop suggestion but if symptoms are not improved after a few days consider seeing your MD ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Poor tear film: Easy remedy! If light film, then Warm compresses in the morning, and use lubricating drops to clear it up. But if it's a dark film or cloud, and you can't see out, then it could be a medical eye emergency, and you need to go to the ER or Urgent Care to see an eye doctor to make sure it's not a retinal detachment, or bleed. ...Read more

Allergies likely: Your symptoms sound like allergic based (allergic conjunctivitis ) and a trial of over the counter medications may be the first step. Try these: You might consider moisturizing/lubricating eye drops as a first approach for these symptoms. If this isn't sufficient then next i'd usually suggest an allergy eye drop (anti-histamine). Avoid long-term decongestant drop usage. Also, if you wear it, consider whether you might be reacting to makeup or some other topical facial product you're using. If none of this helps then talk w/ your doctor. ...Read more

Right eye has been red for 2 days. No burning, itching, pain, goop or swelling. Eye has watered today. Started 10mg lexapro (escitalopram) week ago. Why is eye red?
Lexapro (escitalopram) not culprit: Hi AmandaL- In my experience, Lexapro (escitalopram) is unlikely to cause red eye in just one eye. If it was a drug reaction, it would be more likely to be in both eyes. It could be: allergies, eye contamination, eye trauma such as a scratch. Good luck. Hope you feel better. ...Read more
